WHERE I LIKE TO COME IN ON A PROJECT

While not always possible, I prefer to engage early on to help the director develop the project's tone and sonic palette. This typically is in the pre-production or development stage. Engaging this way helps the director tell the story with sonic continuity. 

MY SCORING PHILOSOPHY

I believe that music is one of the most important tools in a filmmaker's toolbox. It is the soul that brings the story to life. As Alfred Hitcock once said, "Music represents the words that can't be spoken."

Collaboration. I believe in relationships...not transactions. As a composer, I help bring the Director's vision to life. To do that effectively, collaboration is essential versus a transactional approach in post.

MY PROCESS

Communication. Sharing ideas, tone, and exploring how the director wants the audience to feel. Collaborating on scoring ideas ahead of the full scoring process. This helps eliminate negative surprises and ensures sonic continuity.
